Yes, there is a reason for them. NOAA provides (or maybe used to provide) an icon for the weather conditions for a given day in their NDFD feed. Since Friday, those icons are incomplete or missing at times. To try and work around the situation, I've modified the webservice to show a question mark if the icons are missing or incomplete. This is a stop gap measure, and later today I'll be adding more code to try and show the correct icon based on the conditions. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
